Five Spring Rituals to Increase Your Magnetism
The coming of spring is an opportunity to usher in new beginnings and growth. While you might still feel slow to shake off the slow, inward pace of winter, spring provides the perfect opportunity to bring your desires to fruition. If you’re craving more magnetism, pleasure and growth in your love life, this is for you.
In this post, I’ll provide seven practices to support your creativity, playfulness and potential -- all energies of spring and all key ingredients in becoming more magnetic not only in love, but in all aspects of your life.
Why are Spring Rituals Important?
In the whirlwind of day-to-day life, it's easy to overlook the importance of ritual, especially when it comes to rituals for ourselves. However, springtime offers us a special window of time for rejuvenation and self-growth. Harnessing the power of spring rituals can catalyze your desires, particularly your magnetism in love.
Why are these practices worth your time? Because we attract what we cultivate. Spring energy is magnetic energy. The words used to describe spring -- creative, expansive, newness, growth -- are all qualities that others find magnetic. The more you commit to cultivating these qualities in yourself, the more effortlessly magnetic you’ll become.
So, how do you ride this springtime energy? Let’s dive into five different practices to support and inspire you.
1. Desire Visioning
I believe that most people are terrified to actually get what they deeply desire — sometimes the fear of losing what we long for is too much. But spring is all about possibility, so let’s kickstart the season by delving deep into your desires and dreams. Set aside 20 minutes for this super-pleasurable desire exploration.
Put on a lush playlist (my favorite is linked here) and get into a comfortable, relaxed position, maybe laying down under a blanket. Begin to fantasize about the following questions:
What do I want, deeply?
Go a little deeper. What do I want even more?
Keep going deeper until you can feel that you’ve probed to the bottom of your desires. Now allow yourself to expand this fantasy into the five senses.
What do you see around you in this fantasy?
What do you hear?
What do you taste?
What do you touch?
What do you smell?
Now pull out your favorite journal and write down what you experienced. What did you discover? If you want to take this even further, here are some more questions you can explore:
What stories ignite and inspire me?
What music ignites and inspires me?
If I could create my life without limitations, what would it look like? How would I spend my days? My evenings? My weekends? My holidays?
Are there any dreams or aspirations I've been hesitant to pursue? What fears or doubts have been holding me back?
If you’re new to journaling, here are some of my favorite supplies to get you started.
2. Expansive Self-Care
Self care doesn’t have to require a lot of time or money. In fact, the most important self-care practices are accessible for the majority of women. Start with 5 minutes per day, then try to expand into 20 minutes. With the desires you visioned earlier, you need a nervous system that can support you in having what you most desire. This happens via a lot of nurturing, pleasure and safety. Try these nervous-system regulating self-care practices to start.
Yoga Nidra meditation: Find a quiet space where you can sit or lie comfortably and focus on your breath (I do this practice lying under my desk at work or in an empty office). My all-time favorite Nidra practice is linked below.
Yin Yoga Practice: Yin yoga uses long holds/poses to become more flexible and release tension. The best yin yoga is completely free: Follow Yoga with Bird on Youtube. My favorite yin sequence of hers is here.
Walk in Nature: Connect with the healing power of nature by immersing yourself in the beauty of the outdoors, in all weather. Take walks in your neighborhood and soak up the sights and sounds of the natural world around you.
Creative Expression: Engage in creative expression as a form of self-care and self-discovery. Look back at your desire visioning from earlier: what creative hobby could you dabble in? Painting? Dancing? Singing? Let go of perfectionism and embrace the pleasure of doing something for the joy of doing it.
3. Inner Child Nurturing
As the season of spring invites renewal and growth, delve into the practice of inner child nurturing to heal your past wounds and rediscover your innocence. Your inner child is simply the memories you have of yourself in childhood -- but those memories can take on a personality all their own that can drive your sense of innocence, safety and power in the world. Create a safe and loving space for inner-child work, allowing yourself to explore the memories, emotions, and patterns from your childhood with compassion and curiosity.
Visualize: Begin by closing your eyes and visualizing yourself as a child, surrounded by love, warmth, and safety. Build a world in your imagination for them to explore and express themselves.
Connect: Ask your inner child what they want from you. Often, the answers are right at the surface. Have a conversation about their fears, likes, dislikes and dreams. If they tell you they want to go swing at the park, make it happen.
Express: Have a letter journal set aside for a writing back and forth with your inner child. First, write a letter to them, sharing any memories you have of them. Then, write back whatever your inner child has to say in response. Some therapists recommend writing this letter with your non-dominant hand.
4. Cultivating Courage
As spring breathes new life into the world, it also offers the perfect opportunity for embarking on adventures that ignite your spirit, test your limits and elevate your confidence. If you struggle with low self-esteem or anxiety, the smallest acts of bravery can be a catalyst for your empowerment. Practice challenging yourself to step outside your comfort zone and embrace the thrill of the unknown.
Solo Travel: Where have you always wanted to go? Don’t overthink this: assuming it’s a safe place to travel, what do you need to get there, and how are you going to get it? Whether it's a weekend getaway to an Airbnb nearby or a solo backpacking adventure through Brazil, traveling on your own offers you a unique opportunity to discover just how capable you are in your own company.
Self-Defense: If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know how important martial arts is in the work I do with with women. We are often taught that we are fragile and delicate - the more we become aware of our own self-resource and power, the more all of the seeds of desire that we plant with the other practices here will bloom. If self-defense is too confronting or not interesting to you, consider an activity that tests your strength, like rock climbing, hiking, or kayaking, where you can test your limits
5. Yoni Egg for Sensual Pleasure
Yoni eggs, also known as jade eggs, are ancient tools used for enhancing pelvic floor strength, sexual vitality, and spiritual connection. Made from precious gemstones like jade, crystal or obsidian, these smooth, egg-shaped stones are inserted into the vagina and used during kegel exercises, meditation, or intimate self-care rituals. If you want to cultivate a deeper sense of sensuality and pleasure, integrating yoni egg practice into your spring self-care routine can be a wildly transformative journey toward reclaiming your feminine power and embracing your innate eroticism.
For an intro to the yoni egg practice, here’s a fantastic video by my teacher, Layla Martin:
From desire visioning to exploring the sensual pleasures of a yoni egg practice, each of these five rituals offers a delicious pathway to reclaiming your confidence and embracing your feminine power through the energy of spring.
